Finally, I tried installing on my original 160 GB hard drive. The upgrade did not take but the install over the top worked. I am not running Vista RC2. If you have an upgrade version of Vista, you will have to use a 3rd party program such as Acronis Disk Director. Formatting the old Windows 10 partition first did the trick.
