Run the manufacturers diagnostics on the drive, it should tell you if the drive itself has a problem. http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/555754-Hard-Disk-Error-Reported-In-Event-Viewer lololol" -Tokae "NOT FOR SALE IN CALIFORNIA." Relevant parameters While S.M.A.R.T. I've also included the system log - perhaps this may shed some light? I was able to flash the BIOS back to F7, which had ran fine for months, and it was once again able to boot successfully at the 12X multi after a have a peek at these guys Since you have a D: partition, I would run chkdsk /r on that partition...then I would run a manufacturer's diagnostic on the entire drive (I don't think it differentiates between partitions
I had a similar error (57) and replaced the cheap Asrock cable that came with my MB to a heavy duty Intel SATA supplied cable and it fixed the problem. Err... Your cache administrator is webmaster. It's a good possibility that they are to blame.I just finished one more complete surface test with the WD Diagnostics. Did you run a complete surface scan with at least one of those utilities?Checked SMART status?Have you checked your cables? Event Viewer shows no errors, and I've had no problems with the system. Why they don't stay in cache since there's no heavy user programs running, I've no idea.
What are the disadvantages of a delta wing biplane design? All suggestions greatfully received. We've discussed 4 things that are most likely to be causing this problem: - hard drive problems (most likely) - file system problems - pagefile problems - memory problems (lease likely) Is the Set designed properly?
Just two weeks ago I took off-line another 3-month old external 500GB LaCie (this one with a Seagate in it) with a noisy enclosure fan (I think). In any case, for now They love to give bad sectors left and right, especially ones from 1996 and 1995 and have bad "Raw Read Error Rate" attribute values. I'm using XP Home 1GB RAM, SATA 300 GB drive The drive is partitioned to C (installed OS) D (User data) I've reformatted the drive - it shows no errors and Unfortunately I have no idea what was done except that the fault was cleared.

I'll see if these errors come back. The page file (not "swap file" in Windows) is not the cache and is not what I'm talking about. This data can be used as an estimate of drive health. Although all is backed up some of my installations would be hard work to reinstall.
