I have also set up a vpn-client using Windows XP, and when i try to connect, i CAN get connected if i want to, and everything seems to work. Our Mac users can VPN in with no problems, they get a valid IP from the vpn lease pool, can remotely control desktop machines, use files, etc. If the TCP/IP bindings are corrupt, you may have to reinstall TCP/IP and or RAS in order to clean up the bindings.
