Windows 8.1 should be a viable and supported Operating System for quite a while to come but I am wondering the same question that you have on this. I attempt to ping data.tvdownload.microsoft.com but I keep getting Request timed out. I have two tuners installed found out one had been hooked up wrong. I personally really enjoy having this functionality and would like to be able to continue with this solution for the foreseeable future.

I said no thanks! hope they open source it make it free standing app we can eventually download.

I have tried a lot of other things as forums recommended, but nothing works. The capabilities of Kodi are so much greater that I just really can't even get a little excited thinking about WMC anymore.
