I tried both ways, but I'm not sure that either worked. I want to say thank you for the help and advice. I've downloaded and run the update readiness tool and Vista 32 bit readiness tool from Microsoft, but still no go. This means click save instead of run when downloading it and navigating to where you saved it, right click the file and click run as administrator. I now have a new version of security software installed successfully and can put the notorious 936330 behind me.
