It could be memory, but if you read post #8 above, I had an occasion when it was a dodgy cpu. If you have another drive try and use that. Maybe the DVD DRIVE the disk boots from? Every piece of hardware proved to work. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949384

There are others. When trying to copy the disk to the HD it couldnt copy a certain file, saying it was missing or corrupt. Go to cd %windir%\security 4. Trying to install with >> Windows XP Pro on my newly built system.
