errr, you're right. I have the exact same error code, and am scratching my head to figure it out... Since Microsoft does not replace OEM CDs, it would be best if you purchased a "Retail Version" of Windows XP. Like a bad technician, i have restart enabled *sigh* so I go to boot menu, and select my vista drive.

got some file couldn't copy errors, and now its the same as the above prob... Upon booting, > setup > continues and within a minute or two I receive the error "Data > error (cyclic > redundancy check)".
